Equipment Evaluation and Reliability Studies

PCE undertake equipment evaluation studies in which

·         Transformers, cables, switchboards and switches are evaluated for fault and load carrying ability

·          Voltages at end loads and switchboards are checked for acceptability

·         CT specifications are checked.

The studies allow recommendations to be made on upgrades and protection improvements.

Reliability studies can be carried out to evaluate spares options for selected equipment and optimum switching arrangements or topology for systems. Evaluation uses published or actual reliability figures for installed equipment and provides results such as time between failures and cost of failures per year. Critical areas of supply can be identified and cost effective ways to augment power to those areas can then be recommended.
